  2. In a large bowl, combine the spinach, soup mix, chestnuts, onions, sour cream and mayonnaise.
  3. If using as a vegetable dip, then refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours before serving.
  4. Step 2
  5. This step is optional for serving as party food or family get togethers.
  6. Cut a large hole in the top of the Pumpernickel loaf and scoop out the insides. Fill the Pumpernickel loaf with your dip.
  7. Step 3
  8. Cut up the bread from the inside of the loaf into bit size pieces. Serve these pieces with the Pumpernickel loaf. Cover with wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.
