Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a large pot, saute onions in butter over medium heat until caramelized and golden brown.
  2. Add consomme, broth, water and red wine.
  3. Season with pepper.
  4. Simmer until hot.
  5. Ladle soup and onions into 6 bowls.
  6. Top each bowl with a slice of baguette and cheese.
  7. Brown under a preheated broiler until cheese is bubbling and browned.
  8. Serve immediately.
