Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar , firmly packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour , sifted
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/8 cup butter

Directions:

  1. Pour boiling water over oats. Cream butter and sugar thouroughly. Beat in eggs. Stir in soaked oatmeal. Sift together flour & remaining dry ingredients. Stir into oatmeal mixture. pur into greased 12x9x2 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Cool in pan. Spread with topping.
