Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 1/4 cups applesauce
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar until light.
  2. Beat in egg.
  3. Stir together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and cloves.
  4. Gradually add to creamed mixture.
  5. Beat applesauce into batter.
  6. Stir in raisins and walnuts.
  7. Pour into greased and floured 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  9. Cool in pan 10 minutes.
  10. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
  11. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
