Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 1 1/3 cups brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 2/3 tsp baking soda
  • 2/3 tsp cinnamon
  • 2/3 tsp nutmeg
  • 2/3 tsp clove
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2/3 cup raisins
  • 1 cup walnuts

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening, brown sugar and egg until fluffy.
  2. Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt.
  3. Mix with batter.
  4. Add raisins and walnuts.
  5. Drop by teaspoon on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 12 minutes.
