Out Of The Ordinary Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tablesppon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper strips
  • 1/2 cup thin onion wedges
  • 1/2 cup whole cashews

Directions:

  1. In small bowl, stire together the teriyaki sauce, honey and butter.
  2. Fill a bowl with cold water and ice cubes.
  3. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the lemon juice. Drop in the beans and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until beans are bright green. Drain the beans in a colander and then plunge them into ice water. Drain again and set aside.
  4. In skillet, cook the bacon until very crisp. Crumble and set aside.
  5. Saute bell pepper and onion in hot bacon fat for 2 minutes.
  6. Add beans, cashews, bacon to skillet. Add teriyaki-honey sauce and toss gently.
