Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300.
  2. Split baguette lengthwise.
  3. Rub cut side of one-half very well with the mashed garlic then brush liberally with olive oil.
  4. Cut the garlicky half in half again lengthwise then cut into strips using 3/4 pieces.
  5. Place the croutons on a baking sheet crust side down.
  6. Bake 30 minutes.
  7. To serve add the croutons, onion and basil to the tomatoes.
  8. Whisk the vinegar and oil for the vinaigrette.
  9. Pour over all and toss.
