E-Z Red Beans & Rice

Ingredients:

  • 3 (15 oz) cans red beans , do not drain (i buy the new orleans style beans)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp cajun seasoning (i use tony chachere's)
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp liquid smoke (optional depending on how smokey your sausage is)
  • 1 1/2 cups white rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tbsp butter

Directions:

  1. Rice:.
  2. Bring water to boil, add remaining ingredients and cook on medium low for 20 minutes.
  3. Beans:.
  4. Melt butter, lightly brown sausage.
  5. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer on medium low while cooking rice.
