  • 3 can hunt's traditional sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef (90% lean)
  • 1 gallon canola oil
  • 2 tbsp pepper
  • 16 cup water
  • 1 can peas
  • 4 tbsp salt

  2. (contents will swell up 50% or more than original)
  3. Bring mixture to a boil while stirring occasionally
  4. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer stirring once more before covering
  5. Lower heat to lowest simmer you have
  6. Cover for 20 minutes without peeking at mixture
  7. Let rice set for 1/2 hour then add 2 or more cans of the Hunts Traditional Sauce till mixture is pasty in consistency
  8. Note: You may cook sauce prior to mixing, sauce cooks while deep frying so it's your choice, If you wish add Romano cheese to sauce, but not necessary
  9. Let rice mixture rest till Luke warm, it may take up to 3 hours or more for rice to cool till you can handle rice without getting burned
  10. Pour gallon of oil into deep fryer, or pot if you don't have a deep fryer, pre-heat oil in deep fryer to 375 degrees
  11. While rice is setting, cook the ground beef and break while cooking into a grainy consistency, drain beef and salt to taste if desired (skip salt if adding Romano cheese to the Hunts Sauce), drain and allow to cool
  12. Add the equal amount of mozzarella as beef, and can of peas (drained), mix all three items to equal consistency
  13. Once rice is warm to touch, start rolling rice to baseball size balls
  14. Hint: keep a warm drizzle of water running at faucet to keep hands wet, it will, for most part, stop rice from sticking on your hands as much
  15. Take thumb and press into ball creating a hole in the center and add stuffing to hole to desired amount
  16. Close up hole by needing in rice till closed, or add a little more rice to close
  17. Gently roll rice ball in bread crumbs till all is equally covered
  18. Set on a tray, then repeat process for the rest of the rice till you use up all the rice
  19. You can cook 6 balls in deep fryer for 5 to 7 minutes till golden to a light brown color
  20. What your desired color (Repeat process till your done) or make all the rice balls and cook them all after your done making rice balls
