Ingredients:

  • 2 cups finely diced apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 lb butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F Grease an 8x8 pan.
  2. Mix diced apples and sugar; let stand until sugar is thoroughly dissolved. Add egg and mix well.
  3. Sift flour, cinnamon and baking soda together. Stir into apple mixture. Add raisins and vanilla.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven 40-45 minute.
  5. About 10 min before the cake is done, combine sugars and flour in a saucepan. Add water and cook until it clears and thickens. Add buttter and vanilla and stir until butter is fully melted. Pour over cake while both are hot.
