Stacie's Sour Cream Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (i sometimes use chocolate chips) (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Cream sugar and shortening.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla; blend well.
  3. Add mashed bananas.
  4. Sift flour with dry ingredients.
  5. Add flour to wet ingredients, alternating with sour cream.
  6. Add nuts.
  7. Place in 2 pans; pans should be greased and dusted with flour.
  8. Bake at 375F fir 1 hour.
  9. Remove from pans; let cool.
  10. Store in tin foil; they are very moist!
  11. Can easily be halved (I have done this, and it still tastes great) but be warned that you NEED two loaves!
