Directions:

  1. *May substitute chorizo for ham
  2. Melt butter in 4-quart saucepan until sizzling, add ham, onion, bell pepper and chilies.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until onion and pepper are softened.
  4. Add all remaining ingredients (except) potato flakes.
  5. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a boil.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in potato flakes.
  7. Serve immediatly.
