Scalloped Potatoes With Bread Crumb Topping

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sliced onion
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp parsley

Directions:

  1. Butter 9 x 13 casserole dish.
  2. Layer 1/2 potatoes.
  3. Layer on all of the onions.
  4. Put on half the cheddar cheese.
  5. Put on the remaining potatoes.
  6. Melt butter over medium heat.
  7. Add flour and cook 1 minute.
  8. Add milk and cook until sauce is thick and smooth.
  9. Remove from heat.
  10. Add garlic, salt, pepper and mustard, stir until smooth.
  11. Pour on top of potatoes.
  12. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  13. Bake 375 degrees for 1 hour.
  14. CRUMB TOPPING.
  15. Mix together all the ingrediants.
  16. Put on once the potatoes are cooked.
  17. Broil for 3 minutes.
