Potato Soup With Ham and Cheese

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Boil potatoes until tender enough to eat but not to soft.
  2. Drain potatoes and reserve the liquid.
  3. In a large pot melt butter.
  4. When the butter is melted add the flour and whisk to combine until smooth.
  5. Add the milk whisking to combine until smooth.
  6. Add 2 cups of the potato cooking water.
  7. Add the ham and cook for 5 minutes.
  8. Add the cheese and stir till melted.
  9. Add the potatoes, salt, pepper, and red pepper.
  10. Place on the lowest heat and let set for 5 to 10 minutes for the flavors to blend.
  11. Serve with crusty bread and maybe a salad.
