Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb (2 sticks) butter
  • 2 tbsp honey

Directions:

  1. Allow butter to soften slightly at room temperature.
  2. Using and electric mixer, whip butter and honey together in a bowl until well mixed.
  3. To give the butter an extra flair, you can:
  4. * put the butter mixture in a butter mold and allow to chill;
  5. * roll butter up in wax paper, allow it to chill, and slice when
  6. Ready to use;
  7. * spread softened butter in a shallow pan, chill, and, when it is
  8. Firm, use miniature cookie cutters to make different shapes;
  9. * run semichilled butter through a pastry bag, using a star tip.
  10. You can also adapt the above to suit your needs. For
  11. Example, you can add fresh strawberries, blueberries, peaches
  12. Or other fruit. Fresh herbs like basil, thyme, and oregano-as well
  13. As fresh garlic-help make wonderful herbed butter (for this you
  14. Need to omit the honey).
