Lima Beans Barbecued

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Wash beans.
  2. Soak beans in water in Dutch oven overnight.
  3. Do not drain.
  4. Add onion; bring to a boil.
  5. Cover and simmer 30 minutes or until beans are almost tender.
  6. Combine brown sugar, ketchup, corn syrup, salt, liquid smoke and Tabasco sauce in bowl; mix well.
  7. Stir into beans.
  8. Cool quickly and pack into containers.
  9. Seal and freeze.
  10. Recommended storage time: 6 months.
  11. Makes 9 cups.
  12. TO SERVE: Thaw at room temperature until beans can be removed from container.
  13. Place in baking pan or casserole.
  14. Cover and bake in 400 F.
  15. Oven until beans can be pressed into shape of baking pan or casserole.
  16. Top with bacon strips.
  17. Bake, uncovered, until beans are hot and bubbly.
