Ingredients:

  • 1/2-1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 container cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp butter

Directions:

  1. Beat butter& shortening.
  2. Add sugar.
  3. Add yolks mix together.
  4. Add flour alternate with buttermilk& beat.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Fold in coconut, chopped nuts, fold in whites.
  7. Grease three 9 inch pans, bake at 350F degrees for 23-25 minutes .
  8. -Icing-.
  9. Put on top of the 3 layers.
  10. Do Not Put On Sides.
  11. Top with nuts.
