Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup. tahini (sesame paste avaliable in foreign food sections of most grocery stores)
  • 1/3 cup. warm water
  • 1/3 cup. olive oil
  • juice of 2 to 3 lemons
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. ground cumin
  • pepper , to taste

Directions:

  1. Blend first 5 ingredients in processor until creamy.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and adjust seasoning
  3. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
  4. Serves with veggies or pita bread, plain or toasted.
  5. VARIATION: we also like to add different tastes into the hummus such as roasted garlic, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, chopped black olive or chopped roasted red peppers. Also, you can use peanut butter instead of tahini.
