Spicy Tomato-chickpea Soup With Meatballs

Ingredients:

  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 5-10 tbsp tomato puree
  • 7 dl chickenstock
  • 30 dkg (10 oz) ground meat (any kind)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cloves of garlic (crushed )
  • 1-3 chilipeppers (seeded, finely chopped)
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Directions:

  1. Put the meat ,the egg and some breadcrumbs into a bowl, season gently and mix it up.
  2. Shape the meat into walnut size balls. Set aside.
  3. Put the garlic, chilipeppers, cumin and salt into a little bowl. Mix it.
  4. Heat the oil in a pot. Put the chili-mix into the pot and cook it for 3 min.
  5. Add chickpeas, diced tomatos, then chicken stock. Mix well and bring to boil. Cook for 15 min. and stir occassionally.
  6. Blend well with a hand blender until smooth.
  7. Bring to boil again and put into the soup the tomato puree and the little meatballs (little water, salt if necessary). Cook for 15 min.
  8. Serve with lot of soft bread.
