Ingredients:

  • 3 cups white onions
  • 3 cups cubed ham
  • 6 cups ham stock or 6 cups chicken broth
  • 4 cups flour
  • 4 tbsp shortening
  • 1 cup ice water

Directions:

  1. Roll out dumpling dough until 1/4” thick. Cut dough into 1/2” squares.
  2. Boil onion and ham in broth until it boils.
  3. Drop dumplings in slowly and consistently.
  4. Cook for 1 hours on simmer and stir constantly.
