Ham And Potato Chowder

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 3/4 cup diced ham
  • 1 1/2 cups finely diced raw potatoes
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 4 cups milk

Directions:

  1. In large saucepan, melt butter and saute onion, ham and celery.
  2. Add potatoes and cook 10 minutes longer.
  3. Remove from heat and add flour, salt and pepper.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Add milk and return to heat. Warm slowly-do not let boil.
  6. If not served immediately and soup thickens, add warm water to thin to desired consistency.
