Ingredients:

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Spray a 9-inch square baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Combine oats, wheat germ, dried fruits, coconut, sunflower seeds, almonds, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Combine melted butter and brown sugar in a small bowl until well mixed and any lumps removed.
  5. Stir in maple syrup, honey, egg and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Add liquid mixture into dry mixture until dry ingredients are moistened.
  7. Press mixture firmly and evenly into pan.
  8. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden and firm.
  9. Cool completely before cutting into squares or bars.
  10. Note: other varieties of dried fruits and nuts may be substituted to suit your likes and dislikes.
