Caramel Cashew Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan cook and stir caramels,butter and milk over low heat until the caramels are melted and mixture is smooth.
  2. Remove from heat,stir in sugar.
  3. Combine the eggs and vanilla,stir into caramel mixture.
  4. Combine flour,baking powder and salt,stir into caramel mixture until blended.
  5. Fold in cashews.
  6. Spread into a greased 9 inch square baking pan.
  7. Bake at 350 for 24-28 minutes.
  8. Or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool.
  10. Cut into bars.
