Beginner Level Oatmeal Raisin Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins
  • 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 3 eggs (always use large , unless otherwis designated)
  • 2 tbsp baking soda

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Generously grease 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  3. Combine ingredients thoroughly. Spoon into pan, filling just until 3/4 full, to allow for rising during baking.
  4. Bake until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean, about 1 hour. Remove from the pan and place on a wire rack to cool.
