Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, flour and salt.
  2. Stir in milk and mix well.
  3. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
  4. Cook and stir for 2 minutes longer.
  5. Remove from the heat.
  6. Stir a small amount into eggs yolks.
  7. Return all to saucepan.
  8. Bring to gentle boil.
  9. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
  10. Remove from the heat.
  11. Add butter and vanilla.
  12. Cool slightly.
  13. Slice the bananas into pastry shell.
  14. Pour filling over top.
  15. Cool on wire rack for 1 hour.
  16. Store in refrigerator.
  17. Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and bananas.
