Banana Cream Pie

another great banana pie recipe.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
3 large egg yolks, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (9 inch) pastry shells, baked
3 medium firm bananas
whipped cream and additional sliced banana, for decorating
Directions:
1. in a saucepan, combine sugar, flour and salt.
2. stir in milk and mix well.
3. cook and stir over medium-high heat until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
4. cook and stir for 2 minutes longer.
5. remove from the heat.
6. stir a small amount into eggs yolks.
7. return all to saucepan.
8. bring to gentle boil.
9. cook and stir for 2 minutes.
10. remove from the heat.
11. add butter and vanilla.
12. cool slightly.
13. slice the bananas into pastry shell.
14. pour filling over top.
15. cool on wire rack for 1 hour.
16. store in refrigerator.
17. before serving, garnish with whipped cream and bananas.
