Whole Wheat Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp finely grated orange zest
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 2/3 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tbsp grated orange zest

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven 350F degrees.
  2. Spray loaf pan (5 cup capacity) with pan spray.
  3. Mix first 6 ingredients in large bowl; set aside.
  4. In med bowl mix together.
  5. Egg, oil, yogurt, milk, vanilla, and orange zest Add to flour mixture; stir til just blended Fold in poppy seeds and walnuts.
  6. Scrape into prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake 45 minutes til pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  8. Cool 10 minutes then remove from pan.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. Glaze.
  11. In small bowl combine confectioners' sugar, orange juice, and orange zest.
  12. Mix til smooth.
  13. Drizzle over cooled bread.
