Tomato And Basil Tart

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup butter cut into pieces
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 large roma tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup slivered fresh basil
  • 3/4 cup half and half
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:

  1. Position knife blade in food processor bowl then add flour and butter.
  2. Process until mixture is crumbly then add 1 egg and process until mixture forms a ball.
  3. Press dough on bottom and up sides of a tart pan then prick with a fork.
  4. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes then cool completely on a wire rack.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over prepared pastry shell then top with tomato, basil and chives.
  6. Combine 3 eggs and next 4 ingredients then stir well and pour over chives.
  7. Bake at 400 for 30 minutes then remove from oven and let cool on wire rack for 10 minutes.
