The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb butter (2 cups)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 tsp almond extract (for a little richer flavor)
  • 6 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 (12 oz) bags chocolate chips
  • 1 cup nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugars.
  2. Add eggs and extract (s).
  3. Combine dry ingredients and add to butter mixture.
  4. Drop onto cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees for 11-15 minutes.
  5. Yields about 3 1/2 dozen if using an ice cream scoop.
