Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. I start boiling the sweet potato first. By the time I finish putting the chili together it is finally soft.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, cook ground turkey stirring constantly to prevent scorching at the bottom of the pan.
  3. When turkey starts to brown add 1 cup of the chicken stock
  4. In a sauté pan, sauté the diced peppers, onions, red peppers and garlic until softly cooked. Then throw in the Chili powder, Cumin, Nutmeg, Sazón Goya, black pepper, Italian seasoning, tomato paste, and diced tomatoes and totally coat the browned ground turkey so its a nice dark red color.
  5. Add the rest of the chicken stock and the Browns chili beans. Add both the tabasco sauces, the vinegar, Honey, sugar or equal, lime juice.
  6. Peel and Mash the Yam or sweet potato add a little water so its a nice smooth paste and add to the pot to give the chili a well bodyied delicious flavor and thickness. Stir slow but sure and simmer without a cover until chili is the right consistency for about 30 min. to an hour, depending on your available time. Make sure you are stirring from time to time to make sure it doesn't stick or over cook. If it gets to thick add a little water or chicken broth.
  7. ENJOY!
