Ingredients:

  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 1/2-4 cups shelled pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup margarine

Directions:

  1. Beat egg whites until stiff.
  2. Add salt and sugar and continue beating until very stiff.
  3. Fold in pecan halves.
  4. Melt margarine in a 9X13 Pyrex dish.
  5. Pour margarine over nut mixture and fold together.
  6. Pour back into Pyrex dish.
  7. Bake in oven at 350 for 30 to 40 minutes.
  8. Stir and turn nuts over every 10 minutes.
  9. Let cool and break apart.
