Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms (2 4 oz cans)
  • 1 cup thinly sliced onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seed
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp thymol seeds (optional)
  • 1 pinch asafetida powder
  • 1 tsp oil

Directions:

  1. Heat the oil.
  2. Add cumin seeds, thymol seeds, asafoetida,onions and cilantro.
  3. Fry for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the mushrooms.
  5. Add the remaining spices.
  6. Cook till the mushrooms are sort of fried - about 10 minutes.
  7. Serve with rotis.
  8. ** I used the canned mushrooms. So, in case you are using fresh ones, you might have to add a little water.
