Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 pinch cayenne
  • 3 cups walnuts
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Combine the oil through the cayenne in a skillet.
  2. Heat over low heat until the oil is very hot (don't let the oil smoke).
  3. Remove from the heat.
  4. Add the walnuts to the oil and stir until coated.
  5. Spread the walnuts in a power towel-lined shallow baking pan.
  6. Bake at 300° 10 minutes or until crisp.
  7. Sprinkle with salt.
  8. Cool; pack in fancy jars.
