Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter
  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • 1/2 lb mizithra cheese (can be found at most delis)

Directions:

  1. Directions for browned butter: Melt butter in a small pot while spaghetti is cooking.
  2. Cook 3-5 minutes until butter foams and rises. You will see a golden brown color when it is done.
  3. Remove from heat immediately and put aside.
  4. Grate mizythra cheese and put aside.
  5. Drain spaghetti once it is done.
  6. Serve spaghetti on plates or in bowls.
  7. Add about 1/4 cup of melted browned butter to each serving of spaghetti.
  8. Sprinkle with generous serving of mizythra. (warning: mizythra is very rich cheese).
  9. Some people like to add a small amount of marinara or meat sauce. Others (such as myself) enjoy it plain.
  10. Enjoy!
