Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cook onion in butter till tender but not brown.
  2. Cook potatoes in boiling salted water till tender, about 10 minutes; drain and mash (about 2 cups mashed).
  3. Beat in cooked onion and cheese.
  4. Beat together egg yolks, milk and salt; blend into potato mixture.
  5. Fold in beaten egg whites.
  6. Turn into a 2-qt. casserole.
  7. Arrange sausage links over potato mixture.
  8. Bake, uncovered, at 375 till set, about 45 minutes.
