Ingredients:

  • filling
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 cup ap flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • nutmeg topper
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp. sugar

Directions:

  1. COBBLER:
  2. Mix first four ingredients with fruit in a saucepan.
  3. Cook over medium to medium-high heat and stir until thick.
  4. Add butter and lemon juice, remove from heat and pour into a baking dish.
  5. TOPPING:
  6. Sift dry ingredients, add milk and butter at once, beat with electric mixer until smooth.
  7. Spread over fruit.
  8. NUTMEG TOPPER:
  9. In a separate small bowl, stir nutmeg and sugar together.
  10. Sprinkle over topping.
  11. Bake in a preheated 350 F. oven for 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
