Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 tbsp cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup butter (melted )
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine the 3/4 cup sugar, flour,3 Tbl cocoa, baking powder and salt.
  3. Blend in milk, butter and vanilla.
  4. Beat until smooth.
  5. Pour into 8x8 or 9x9 pan.
  6. Mix 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar and 4 Tbl cocoa in a small bowl.
  7. Sprinkle in an even layer over top of batter.
  8. Pour hot water over everything in pan.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
  10. Let stand 15 minutes and serve warm.
