Ingredients:

  • 4 piece bacon
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 lb small pasta
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water

Directions:

  1. - Cut the bacon in small pieces and cook in skillet over high heat. While bacon is cooking, finely dice the carrot, celery, onion, and garlic.
  2. - Drain bacon grease from pan, leaving enough to cook the veggies. Leave bacon bits in pan. Add veggies and saute until the onions are transparent.
  3. - Add ground beef and brown completely until nice and crisp on the edges.
  4. - Remove all ingredients to crock pot and de-glaze the pan with the red wine. Add wine to crock pot.
  5. - Add beef broth, tomato paste, tomato sauce and milk to crock pot.
  6. - Cook on high for 1/2 hour or on low for at least 2 hours.
  7. - Serve over small pasta such as penne, farfalle, or ziti.
