Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Directions:

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. 2. In a largebowl, cream shortening with brown sugar. Beat in egg until smooth.
  3. 3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt over batter. Mix with wooden spoon or hand mixer.
  4. 4. Pour milk and continue mixing. Add oatmeal, raisins and walnuts. Mix to distribute evenly.
  5. 5. Drop small spoonfuls of batter onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
  6. 6. When done, transfer cookies to wire racks and let cool.
