Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • red and green colored crystal sugar

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add egg and extracts.
  3. Beat until light and fluffy.
  4. Add flour and nuts.
  5. Beat just until moistened.
  6. Cover and chill 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.
  7. Shape into 1 inch balls.
  8. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.
  9. Flatten to 1/4 inch thickness with a glass dipped in colored sugar.
  10. Sprinkle with additional sugar, if desired.
  11. Bake at 350 degrees, for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are set.
