No Fail Brown Sugar Fudge

Ingredients:

  • 3 4 cups butter
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups icing sugar
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Butter 8x8x2 pan
  2. Melt butter in saucepan.
  3. Add brown sugar.
  4. Cook over low heat for 2 minutes stirring constantly.
  5. Add evaporated milk, cook, stirring until mixture comes to a boil.
  6. Continue to stir, bring to soft ball stage and remove from heat.
  7. Let cool slightly
  8. Stir in vanilla
  9. Gradually add the powdered sugar beating vigorously by hand or with beater till it is a fudge like consistency (2 min)
  10. Stir in nuts
  11. Put in buttered 8x8x2 pan
