Methi (Fenugreek Leaves) and Green Peas Pilaf

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 1/2 cups green peas
  • 4 -5 bunches of fresh methi leaves
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 pinch asafetida powder (hing)

Directions:

  1. Cook rice in 4 1/2 cups water and allow to cool once water has evaporated and the rice is ready.
  2. Wash and chop methi leaves.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet.
  4. Add mustard seeds, hing and green chillies.
  5. Add methi leaves, green peas and salt.
  6. Cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Remove from flame.
  8. Add cooked rice, mix well and serve.
