Maryland Steamed Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 10 lbs fresh shrimp
  • 6 (12 oz) cans beer (or bottled really doesn'tsp matter)
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt

Directions:

  1. In a large pot pour in the beer, vinegar, salt, and lemon (sliced in half) and bring to a rapid boil.
  2. Place a steamer rack in the bottom of the pot and cover with a layer of shrimp.
  3. Sprinkle the Old Bay Seasoning over the layer and repeat until all of the shrimp are in the pot.
  4. Cover tightly and let steam for 10 minutes until all of the shrimp have turned a bright red.
  5. Remove the shrimp and allow to cool slightly.
