Mac And Cheese With Prawns

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kilo prawns (about 12 pieces)
  • 300 g of spiral pasta (or any shape of you love)
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 cups or 375 ml of milk
  • 1/2 cup/ 120 ml of pasta water (the water in which the pasta was boiled)

Directions:

  1. Boil the pasta according to the package directions.
  2. Clean the prawns.
  3. You may chop the prawns into smaller pieces for kids.
  4. Cut the onions lengthwise.
  5. Dice the carrots.(cut into small cubes).
  6. Grate the cheddar cheese.
  7. Cut the cream cheese into cubes.
  8. Heat the butter in a pan.Add the onions and cook until translucent.
  9. Add the carrots.and cook for a minute.
  10. Add the prawns.
  11. When the prawns starts to change color,pour in the milk.
  12. Add the pasta water and cheeses.
  13. Season with salt and pepper.
  14. Sprinkle Parsley then give the dish a final stir.
  15. When serving,sprinkle a little more parsley on top.
  16. Goes best with garlic toast.
