Grandma's Stove Top Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 4 lbs chicken pieces
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 (11 oz) can mandarin oranges
  • 1 tbsp garlic
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp cold water
  • 1/2 cup walnuts

Directions:

  1. Put the raisins in the white wine and set aside.
  2. Sprinkle chicken with paprika.
  3. Brown the chicken in oil for about 10 minute.
  4. Meanwhile drain the oranges, saving the juice.
  5. Add garlic to the juice and pour over the chicken.
  6. Drain the raisins and add, cooking for another 5 minute.
  7. Remove the chicken.
  8. Mix the corn startch and cold water.
  9. Add to the broth and stir until thickened.
  10. Add grated ginger and the oranges.
  11. Add the chicken and walnuts.
  12. Cook for another few minute.
  13. Serve over rice.
