German Sauerkraut Salad

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sauerkraut (1 lb. can)
  • 1/2 cup. sugar
  • 1/2 cup. thinly sliced celery
  • 1/2 cup. thin strips green pepper
  • 1/2 cup. shredded carrot
  • 1/4 cup. chopped onion

Directions:

  1. Cut sauerkraut strands in shorter pieces if required. Stir in sugar and let stand 1/2 hour. Add remaining ingredients. Cover bowl tightly and chill in refrigerator at least 12 hours before serving.
  2. Makes 8 servings (1/2 cup each).
