Easy Hot Pepper-glazed Pecans

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 to 2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 2 cups pecan halves (about 8 oz)

Directions:

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. 2. In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, and red pepper. Bring mixture to boiling. Add pecans and return to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 12 minutes.
  3. 3. Drain; spread pecans in an ungreased shallow baking pan. Place in preheated oven and bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove pecans from oven; spread on buttered foil to cool.
  4. 4. Makes 8 (1/4-cup) servings
