Classic Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar (can easily reduce to 3/4 cup)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cup of flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. With a wooden spoon, mix butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  3. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.
  4. Add the flour last, mix.
  5. Pour mixture into a buttered 4x8 inch loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 1 hour.
  7. Cool on a rack.
  8. Remove from pan and slice to serve.
  9. I sometimes add 1/2 a cup of chocolate chips!
