  1. Put beans, water, onion and garlic in a heavy pot and bring to boil. lower heat and simmer gently until beans are tender, about 1.5 hours. Stir in salt.
  2. Heat oil in small skillet over medium high that and cook onion until it's browned on the edges, 10 to 15 minutes. Tear the chiles into a few pieces and coarsely crumble or tear avocado leaves into onions and cook until they're fragrant and the chiles turn a lighter color. Add 1 cup of the beans to the blender jar. Then transfer the contents of the skillet, oil and a ll, to the jar. Blend until smooth.
  3. Return the blended bean mixture to the pot then swish a little water around the blender jar and add it to the beans. Let them cook for a few minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally, then season to taste with salt.
