Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350º F.
  2. Grease 9-in. x 5-in. x 3-in. loaf pan.
  3. Drain red cherries, chop and set aside.
  4. Reserve liquid from red cherries only.
  5. Add water, if needed, to this liquid to equal 1/3 cup.
  6. Set liquid aside.
  7. Drain green cherries, chop and set aside.
  8. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  9. In a small bowl, lightly beat eggs.
  10. Add milk, butter and red cherry liquid to dry ingredients. Mix just until combined.
  11. Fold in red and green cherries, pecans and orange peel.
  12. Pour into a greased loaf pan.
  13. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until bread tests done.
